Johnstown Republic is committed to accurate, fair, and transparent reporting. If we make a factual error, we will correct it promptly.
How We Handle Corrections
When an error is identified, Johnstown Republic may:
- Correct spelling, grammar, or minor formatting errors without a note
- Correct factual errors and add a note to the article explaining what was changed
- Update headlines, captions, or social media posts if they contain incorrect information
- Remove information that cannot be verified or is found to be inaccurate
For significant errors, we will add a correction note at the bottom of the article such as:
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the meeting began at 6:00 p.m. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. This article has been updated.
Or:
Clarification: This article has been updated to clarify that Ballot Issue 2A did not raise taxes town-wide, but would have affected properties within the proposed downtown district only.

Opinion Pieces and Letters
Opinion pieces, guest columns, and letters to the editor reflect the views of their authors. However, factual errors in those pieces may still be corrected or noted.
