Johnstown’s annual Fall Fest will return to downtown Saturday, Sept. 12, bringing vendors, food trucks, live music and family activities to the heart of the community.
The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. in Downtown Johnstown and is one of the community’s signature annual downtown events. Organizers say Fall Fest has drawn more than 4,000 attendees and will again feature a beer garden, local vendors, live music and activities for children.
Interest from businesses and vendors is already strong. Organizers say vendor and food truck space has reached capacity, meaning additional registrations are no longer being accepted.
A Downtown Tradition During a Year of Change
This year’s Fall Fest comes during a transition in how downtown programs and redevelopment efforts are organized in Johnstown.
Eligible voters within the downtown district approved creation of the Johnstown Downtown Development Authority in the April 7 election through Ballot Questions 2B and 2C. The measures also authorized the use of tax increment financing, which allows a portion of future increases in property and sales tax revenue generated within the district to support public improvements, redevelopment and other projects identified in the DDA’s development plan.
The new DDA is gradually assuming many of the programs and responsibilities previously associated with the nonprofit Johnstown Downtown Development Association, or JDDA. During that transition, however, the JDDA will continue to organize and operate the 2026 Fall Fest.
The organizations have said they will work together during the transition to maintain continuity for downtown programs, events and initiatives. The JDDA has historically supported downtown through community events, business advocacy, marketing, volunteer initiatives and beautification efforts.
What to Expect Saturday
According to the official event information, Fall Fest will include local vendors, live music, a beer garden and family-friendly activities throughout downtown Johnstown.
The festival also provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to spend time downtown and patronize businesses within the district while the event is underway.
Fall Fest is one of several downtown community events held throughout the year. Additional events include Trick-or-Treat Street and Johnstown Jingle.
